Pada cuti sekolah yang lepas, saya dan

Pantai di Pulau Langkawi sangat cantik.
Kami berenang dalam laut dan membina istana pasir. Kami berasa sangat gembira.
Kami juga melawat ke ‘Underwater
World'. Di sini kami dapat melihat pelbagai jenis hidupan laut.
Sesetengah daripada hidupan laut itu berwarna- wami dan sangat cantik.
Ada juga hidupan laut yang kelihatan luar biasa.
Sebelum pulang, kami sempat membeli-belah
di Pulau Langkawi. Emak membeli beberapa helai pakaian untuk kakak dan saya.
Saya berasa sangat gembira kerana berpeluang melawat ke Pulau Langkawi.

During the last school holidays, my family
and I went to Langkawi island. We have to travel in a ferry to get to the
island.

of sea creatures were on display. Some are very colourful and
beautiful. Some look quite strange.
Before we came back, we did some shopping.
My mother bought some clothes for my sister and I. It was a most enjoyable

Melawat Ke Zoo Negara
Pada hari Ahad yang lepas, ayah membawa
kami sekeluarga ke Zoo Negara.
Terdapat pelbagai jenis haiwan di Zoo
Negara. Terdapat haiwan liar seperti harimau, singa dan badak. Terdapat juga
haiwan jinak seperti arnab, burung merak dan ayam.
Kami berpeluang melihat pertunjukan
ikan lumba-lumba. Di dalam tangki kaca yang besar terdapat beberapa ekor ikan
lumba-lumba. Ikan lumba-lumba itu menunjukkan beberapa aksi yang
menarik. Ikan lumba-lumba itu akan diberi ikan-ikan kecil.
Kami menghabiskan masa selama setengah
hari di Zoo Negara. Walaupun kami berasa penat tetapi kami tetap berasa
gembira.

A Visit To The Zoo
Last Sunday, my father took the whole
family to the Zoo. There were all types of animals. There were wild animals
such as tigers, lions and hippopotamus. There were tame animals too, such as rabbits,
peacocks and chickens.
We watched a dolphin show too. There were
a few dolphins in a huge glass tank. They performed many tricks.
When they performed well, their trainers reward them with small fishes.
We spent half a day at the Zoo. It was
tiring but most enjoyable.

Mimpi Yang Menakutkan
Pada suatu malam, Ming Feng menonton
televisyen seorang diri. Ibu, ayah dan adik-beradiknya sudah tidur.
Tiba-tiba Ming Feng terdengar bunyi
ketukan pada pintu. Ming Feng terperanjat. Dia membuka pintu. Dilihatnya ada
seorang perempuan cantik sedang berdiri di luar. Perempuan itu tersenyum ke
arah Ming Feng. Tiba-tiba rambut perempuan itu menjadi panjang sehingga mencecah
lantai.
Ming Feng menjerit ketakutan. Dia terus
menutup pintu lalu berlari ke atas. Tiba-tiba dia tergelincir lalu
terjatuh.
Ming Feng dapati yang dia terduduk di atas
lantai. Dia telah terjatuh dari atas katil. Rupa-rupanya dia hanya bermimpi.

telefon berdering. Emak menjawab panggilan telefon itu. Tiba-tiba saya
terdengar emak menangis.
Saya bertanya kepada emak mengapa dia
menangis. Emak memberitahu saya bahawa datuk meninggal dunia kerana
diserang sakit jantung. Kami berpelukan sambil menangis.
Kami pergi ke rumah datuk, semua orang
yang hadir kelihatan sedih dan sugul.
Saya tidak dapat melupakan hari itu.
Walaupun datuk telah tiada tetapi saya akan sentiasa mengingatinya.

Unforgettable Day
Last Tuesday, I woke up at six o’clock as
usual. I was changing into my school uniform when the telephone rang. My mother
answered it. Suddenly she cried out loudly.
I asked her why she was crying. She told
me that my grandfather had died of heart attack. We held each other and wept.
Later we went to grandfather’s house.
Everybody was very sad and solemn.
The day my beloved grandfather died was an
unforgettable day. Even though he is not here anymore. I shall always remember
him.

Saya mengejutkan ayah. Ayah terus bangun
lalu menelefon polis. Emak mengejutkan adik perempuan di bilik sebelah. Kami
berkumpul di bilik ayah dan mengunci pintu bilik. Kami terdengar pintu ruang
tamu dibuka oleh pencuri itu. Kemudian kami terdengar pencuri itu menggeledah
almari.
Tidak lama kemudian, kami mendengar bunyi
siren polis. Pihak polis telah berjaya menangkap pencuri itu. Kami mengucapkan
terima kasih kepada pihak polis.

It was a very hot night. I could not
sleep. I got up from my bed and went downstairs to the living room. Everyone
else was sleeping.
The neighbour’s dog was barking. I pulled
the curtains aside and looked out. I was shocked to see a man climbing up our
gate. Quickly I rushed up to my parents' bedroom.
My father woke up immediately. He
rang the police. Then my mother woke my sister up. We all locked ourselves in
the bedroom.
We could hear the door opening downstairs.
There was the sound of drawers opening. Then we heard the police siren.
A short while later, we went downstairs.
By then, the policemen had handcuffed the burglar.

An Accident
One afternoon I was waiting outside the
school for my mother. Suddenly I heard a loud noise.
A car had knocked down a cyclist. The

removed the bicycle from the body.
The boy was bleeding on his hands and
legs. The driver of the car carried the injured boy to his car. Then he
quickly drove away.
I felt very sorry for the boy.

tua di situ. Sebahagian besar daripada mereka masih sihat dan ada beberapa
orang yang kelihatan uzur. Mereka hanya berbaring di atas katil.
Kami menderma beberapa tin makanan seperti
sardin, kacang pea dan Iain-lain kepada mereka. Kami juga berbual-bual dengan
mereka. Mereka berasa sangat gembira dengan kedatangan kami.
Kami berasa sedih apabila hendak pulang.
Kami berjanji akan melawat ke rumah orang tua itu pada masa akan datang.

A Visit To The Old Folks Home
Last Sunday my class went to visit an old
folks home. There were about twenty inmates there. Some of them are
quite healthy. A few of them are sick and have to lie in bed the whole day.

very happy that we visited them.
When it was time to say goodbye, we all
felt sad. We promised to visit them again.

dibawa, mereka bersiar-siar di sekitar kawasan tasik. Di situlah terdapat

di belakang langsir pintu. Puan Tan,
jiran Samy keluar dari rumahnya, dia berasa marah apabila melihat pasu bunganya
telah pecah.
Maniam keluar dari rumahnya dan meminta
maaf kepada Puan Teh kerana telah memecahkan
pasu bunganya.
Puan Teh tersenyum dan berkata, “Saya

Pada bulan lepas, saya sambut Tahun Baharu

kepada ibu bapa saya. Mereka memberi ‘angpau’ kepada saya.
Kami berkunjung ke rumah datuk dan
nenek. Saudara mara saya juga berada di sana. Saya menerima ‘angpau’ daripada
datuk, nenek, pak cik, mak cik dan saudara mara.
Saya dan sepupu saya bermain pelbagai
jenis permainan seperti permainan ular dan tangga. Kami berasa sangat gembira.

Yesterday I went to a nearby bookshop to
buy some pencils. On the way home, I met a pack of dogs.
The dogs were very fierce. They barked at
me. I felt very afraid. One of the dogs came near me.
An old man came out from a nearby house.
He bent down to pick up some stones. He threw the stones at the dogs. The dogs whined
and ran away.
I thanked the old man for his help and ran
all the way home.
That was a narrow escape.

I am a pink dress. There is a big blue
ribbon on my front. My mistress is a little girl named Ng Mei Mei. Her mother
bought me for her eighth birthday.
Ng Mei Mei loved me very much. She wore me
every week. One day she accidentally tore the blue ribbon. From then on, she
didn’t like me anymore.
Ng Mei Mei’s mother packed me with other
old clothes. She donated us to an orphanage. Another girl became
my mistress. She was very happy to have me.

Buah-buahan Tempatan
Malaysia mempunyai pelbagai jenis buah-
buahan tempatan. Saya suka makan buah betik, tembikai, jambu, rambutan dan
pisang. Buah kegemaran saya ialah ‘Raja Buah-buahan’, iaitu buah durian.
Durian buah bermusim. Bermusim
bererti boleh didapati pada sesuatu masa tertentu dalam setahun. Selain durian,
rambutan dan manggis juga buah- buahan bermusim.
Buah-buahan tidak bermusim banyak didapati
sepanjang tahun. Antara buah itu ialah pisang. Buah pisang boleh dimakan dengan
pelbagai cara seperti digoreng, dibuat kuih atau kek. Buah pisang juga boleh
dimakan dengan aiskrim. Hidangan ini dikenali dengan nama ‘Banana Split’.
Rasanya sungguh lazat.
Buah-buahan tempatan murah dan berkhasiat.
Kita patut selalu makan buah-buahan tempatan.

Local fruits
Malaysia has many local fruits. Papaya,
watermelon, guava, rambutan and banana, I like them all. My favourite is the
king of the fruits, durian.
Durians are seasonal fruits. That means
they are only available at certain times of the year. Rambutans and
mangosteens are also seasonal fruits.
Fruits such as bananas and papayas are
available the whole year round. The banana can be eaten in many ways. It can be
made into fritters, kuih and cakes. When served with ice cream, it is
called ‘banana split’. It also tastes good as it is.
Local fruit are cheap and tasty. We should
eat more of them.

dalam rak yang disediakan. Saya mengambil sekotak pensel 2B.
Ibu saya membayar harga kamus dan pensel
itu di kaunter pembayaran. Saya berharap agar saya dapat membeli buku
cerita pada masa yang akan datang.

On the way back from school, my mother and
I stopped by the Popular Bookshop.
My mother wanted to buy a Malay dictionary
for me. While she was looking at the dictionaries, I browsed at the
children’s corner. There were many books by Enid Blyton. She is my favourite author.
There were also many other types of books
and magazines. Stationery such as pencils, pens and erasers were neatly
arranged on shelves. I picked up a box of 2B pencils.
My mother paid for the dictionary and
pencils at the payment counter. I hope to buy a story book the next time
I come.

berjalan menuju ke dapur, saya berasa sungguh terkejut. Di atas meja

saya. Rupa-rupanya saya hanya bermimpi. Inilah mimpi yang paling menarik

Anjing Yang Tamak
Pada suatu hari, seekor anjing bernama
Bongo telah menjumpai seketul tulang. Bongo menggonggong tulang itu.
Dalam perjalanan pulang, Bongo terpaksa menyeberang
sebuah jambatan yang kecil. Bongo berhenti di jambatan itu dan melihat ke
dalam air. Bongo ternampak seekor anjing sedang menggonggong seketul tulang
juga.
Bongo mahu tulang itu. Bongo membuka
mulutnya dan menyalak ke arah anjing itu. Apabila Bongo membuka mulutnya,
tulang yang digonggongnya terjatuh ke dalam air.
Anjing yang dilihat di dalam air itu
hanyalah bayang-bayang Bongo sendi. Akhirnya anjing yang tamak itu tidak
mendapat tulang.

He opened his mouth to bark at the other dog. His own bone dropped into the
water.

It was only his own reflection that Bongo saw in the water. In the end,
