Essays Writing
General Guidelines
Many students find it difficult to write a flawless essay.
There is a no short cut to master the language. 
Read, listen and speak English every day.
When you read you will develop a wide range of vocabulary.
Study how words are used and use a dictionary to learn the meaning of new words.

Reading and having a good vocabulary are not enough for you to write a good essay.
You must have a solid foundation in grammar as well.

What is an Essay?
An Essay is a short piece of writing on a particular subject. (or)  an attempt or effort.
Examples:
I discovered a secret about writing an essay. 
I learned how to not only write a great essay, but how to have fun while doing it. 
An essay is, generally, a piece of writing that gives the author's own argument. 
Essays have traditionally been sub-classified as formal and informal.
What is Glossary?
Glossary is an alphabetical list of terms or words found in or relating to a specific subject, text, or dialect, with explanations; a brief dictionary.
What is a Vocabulary?
Vocabulary is the body of words used in a particular language. (or) words used on a particular occasion or in a particular sphere. (or) the body of words known to an individual person. 
Examples:
She is improving her vocabulary.
The vocabulary of law.
He had a wide vocabulary.
What is a Dictionary?
Dictionary is reference resource, in printed or electronic form, that consists of an alphabetical list of words with their meanings and parts of speech, and often a guide to accepted pronunciation and syllabification, irregular inflections of words, derived words of different parts of speech, and etymologies

Orang Yang Paling Saya Hormati/The Person I Admire Most
Orang Yang Paling Saya Hormati
Orang yang paling saya hormati ialah ibu. Ibu saya berasal dari sebuah keluarga yang miskin. Dia mula imenyara hidup keluarganya setelah bapanya meninggal jdunia. Pada masa itu, dia baru berumur lima belas tahun.
Ibu belajar cara-cara menjahit dan akhirnya dia berjaya menjadi seorang tukang jahit. Setiap pagi dia menunggang basikal dari rumah ke rumah bagi mengumpul kain untuk dijahit baju. Selepas siap mengumpul kain, ibu akan menjahit baju-baju di rumah.
Ibu selalu bekerja hingga larut malam. Biasanya, ibu menghantar baju yang siap dijahit kepada pemiliknya pada keesokan harinya. Ibu menggunakan wang yang diperoleh daripada kerja-kerja jahitan itu untuk membeli makanan kepada ahli-ahli keluarganya.

The Person I Admire Most
The person I admire most is my mother. She came from a poor family. She started supporting her siblings when her father passed away. She was 45 years old.
She learned how to sew and became a seamstress. Every morning she would cycle from house to house top collect clothes and materials. After collecting, she would then bring them to work on.
She would work on them till late at night. Usually, the following morning, she would send them back to their owners. The payment collected would then be spent on buying food for the family.

Berjaya Melarikan Diri/A Narrow escape
Berjaya Melarikan Diri
Peter berjalan kaki pulang dari kelas tambahan. Dia berjalan di sepanjang lorong berjalan kaki di kawasan iperumahan. Tiba-tiba, dia terdengar suatu suara yang aneh. Dia berpaling belakang. Rupa-rupanya seekor anjing yang garang sedang memerhati Peter.
Peter menggigil ketakutan. Tanpa berfikir panjang, dia berlari pantas. Anjing itu mengejar Peter. Peter menjerit Imeminta pertolongan.
Kebetulan, jirannya ternampak apa yang sedang berlaku. Dia segera membuka pintu pagar rumahnya supaya Peter dapat berlari masuk ke dalam rumahnya. Sebaik sahaja Peter masuk ke dalam rumah, jirannya menutup pintu pagar dengan segera. Peter bernasib baik kerana berjaya mengelakkan diri daripada digigit anjing yang garang itu.

A Narrow escape
Peter was walking home from tuition class. He walked along the footpath of the neighbourhood. Suddenly, he heard a growl. He turned around. A big vicious dog was behind him. The dog was snarling at him.
He started to tremble in fright. Without a further thought, he started running for his life. The dog chased after him. He screamed and screamed for help.
Fortunately, a neighbour saw what was happening. He quickly opened his house’s gate.“When Peter ran in, he quickly closed the gate. Peter was so grateful. He had a narrow escape.

Detik Yang Saya Paling Bangga/My Proudest Moment
Detik Yang Saya Paling Bangga
Hari itu hari penyampaian hadiah sekolah saya. Saya ungguh gembira. Saya dan Ibu bapa akan pergi ke ekolah bersama-sama. Saya memakai pakaian seragam sekolah dengan kemas sekali.
Saya berpeluang naik ke atas pentas untuk menerima hadiah daripada guru besar.
Upacara penyampaian hadiah bermula tepat pada pukul 8 pagi. Setelah ucapan disampaikan satu pertunjukan persembahan diadakan.
Akhirnya, tibalah upacara penyampaian hadiah. Saya berasa bangga apabila nama saya dipanggil naik ke atas pentas bagi menerima hadiah. Saya memandang ke arah ibu bapa saya semasa berada di atas pentas. Wajah mereka kelihatan berseri-seri sambil bertepuk tangan tanda gembira.

My Proudest Moment
It was a prize-giving day at my school today. I am very excited. My parents will be going to school with me. I dressed with extra care.
I shall be going up on stage to receive a book prize from the school’s headmistress.
The ceremony started at 8.00 a.m. sharp. There were speeches and performances. Finally, the prize-giving event came. My proudest moment was when my name was
called and I went up on stage to receive my prize. I saw my parents. They were beaming with happiness and clapping loudly.

After fifteen minutes of journey, we arrived at the hypermarket. Mother got a trolley to put things in. As she was entering, she was stopped by a group of people standing beside the entrance gate. They congratulated her. She was customer number 1000th to visit the hypermarket. They gave mother a RM500 voucher to spend in the hypermarket. Mother was so happy.

I rushed to Toby. It was too late. He had passed away. Later, I buried him behind the house. That day was the saddest day of my life.

It was almost 3 a.m., yet Aini could not sleep. She tossed and turned on her bed. Suddenly, she smelt smoke. Quickly, she got up and opened her bedroom door.
She saw the kitchen was filled with smoke. She shouted for her parents. They came out of their room. Her father rushed into the kitchen to turn off the stove.
It seemed that her mother had gone to bed, forgetting that she was boiling water. The water had dried
off.
After making sure that everything was in order, they went back to bed.

Saya terdengar suara jeritan semasa berjalan pulang ke rumah. Suara jeritan itu datangnya dari sebuah :longkang yang berdekatan. Seorang budak kecil yang membawa seekor kucing cuba memanjat keluar dari longkang itu.
Malangnya budak itu tidak berupaya kerana longkang itu agak dalam dan sebelah tangannya memeluk kucing itu. Dengan segera, saya meletakkan barang-barang saya supaya dapat membantu budak itu.
Tidak lama kemudian, budak kecil dan kucingnya dapat dikeluarkan dari dalam longkang itu. Dia mengucapkan terima kasih kepada saya kerana sudi menolongnya. Selepas itu, saya teruskan perjalanan saya.

I was walking home alone when I heard a shout…
I was walking home alone when I heard a shout. It came from the direction of nearby drain. A young boy was holding a frightened kitten and was trying to climb up from the drain.
Unfortunately, he could not as the drain was quite deep and he had only one free hand. I quickly put my things down so that I could help him.
Soon, both him and the kitten were out of the drain. He thanked me for coming to his aid. I continued my journey home.
